When people first come to the gym they often have the goal of losing weight. Almost everyone wants to look better and feel better in their bodies…

But that’s not what we are really doing.

We are building more resilient better humans. We are preparing for times of adversity. We are strengthening the mind and the body.

Defy members are better prepared for dealing with the adversity of the pandemic than if they weren’t members – I know because many of them have told me so.

The workout itself isn’t the defining factor – whether you squat or deadlift or run. It’s the commitment to self-improvement that is the key.

When you make that commitment it doesn’t stop after you hit your workout. It continues into the choices of food you eat, into the time you go to bed and into the books you read to better yourself.
