The Work is Never Done!

Getting stuck in the trap of trying to get something finished is often the times where I’m the least productive. Let me explain:

In life we all have many different projects on the go at any one time; house chores, work related deadlines, kids needs etc. and when I’m focussed on ‘checking items off a to-do list’, I’m usually the least effective in all areas.

In that mindset, I’m trying to get something done to move on to the next thing and often the items don’t get done well enough or I’m just in a mindset that is focusing on the wrong priorities.

When I accept that the ‘work is never done’, I find myself more productive, more organized and completing projects to a much higher standard. I structure my day to prioritize different parts of my life; family, business and fitness. The key for me is having blocks of time to work on those areas, the projects within them, and rather than focussing on completion, the focus is just on doing the work.

With fitness this is a key mindset to have to become successful in changing your habits long term. By now, I hope everyone can agree that taking care of your health & fitness is THE number one thing that everyone should have as one of their priorities, without it you will not live the best life that you could, plain and simple!

Having fitness related goals is great, but if you make them the focus then you’re missing the point. The Work is Never Done when it comes to your health & fitness. The fitness you have today is rented and if you don’t pay the rent daily, it’s taken away from you!

Paying the rent, ie. making daily deposits by eating healthy, doing your workouts, getting steps in etc. is the work that needs to be done. No matter what your goals are, this doesn’t change.

If you lose the 10lbs that you set as the goal, great – but you can’t just stop. If you do, you’ll probably put it back on again. Instead of focussing on the 10lb weight loss, focus on just doing the work, over and over again.

When you look at things this way – doing the work becomes the goal! The best part is that you’re in total control of whether or not you Do The Work!
