Who willingly does 100 burpees?

A legitimate question. Who willingly does 100 burpees?

Very few people actually like burpees. Even those who are good at them (can do them fast) don’t necessarily love the idea of doing burpees.

I think a burpee is a good representation of life – you get knocked down and you have to get back up again. We go through countless setbacks in life where we have to dust ourselves off and get back up again, some big and some small.

A couple of weeks ago, one of our members posted a screenshot of his time it took him to do 100 burpees. There was a couple of weeks on there and he challenged people to join him – naturally, my wife Michelle took him up on that (she’s the rare person who likes burpees) and so did many others.

I know none of the others or Nick (the person who started the idea) actually likes burpees. So why do it?

It’s hard – that’s a good reason to do anything. Choose to do more hard things in your life and “normal” things will become easy.

It feels good – afterward that it. A sense of accomplishment after finishing. 100 is a big number and you can measure your progress by repeating it each week.

Community – I can never explain our gym community very well to people, but this is it. Getting involved with each other, sharing hardship and continually pushing each other to be better.

If the idea of doing 100 burpees scares you, that’s normal. You should still give it a go and know you just got better at life!
