December, Jan & Feb is what I like to call separation season.
If you live in a place like Toronto, then these months can be rough. The weather is harsh, the days are short, and these winter months just make everything a little more awkward.
There’s a natural instinct to “hibernate” through this stretch — and most people do.
But the ones who stay consistent with the basics?
They pull away. They create distance. They build momentum that everyone else has to chase later.
While others are hitting snooze, skipping workouts, and waiting for “January motivation” to magically kick in… you just keep showing up.
And that’s the whole point — separation season isn’t about being perfect. It’s about not disappearing.
It’s about stacking small wins when everyone else is slowing down.
It’s about choosing progress over comfort.
It’s about entering spring already ahead, not trying to make up lost ground.
So don’t hibernate.
Don’t wait.
Do the boring, simple things that actually move the needle.
This is the season where champions get built — quietly, consistently, while the rest of the city is hiding from the cold.
Keep going.
This is where you separate.
