Don’t Wait For Perfect Conditions

But no matter what the weather is, you’re always going to get wet while surfing.

Waiting for perfect conditions will always put you at a disadvantage – just like waiting for the perfect conditions to start prioritizing your fitness.

Something I’ve heard many times over the years – I’ll start in a couple of weeks when ‘XYX’ is less hectic.

But yesterday, I met with a member of Defy who has been with us for three months now. He deliberately started with us in December last year knowing that December would be a hard month because of holiday parties and January would be even harder because that is the busiest time for him at work.

Over the 3 months, he only missed 2 of his scheduled workouts – huge success!

The reality is, there is no perfect time, there are no perfect conditions. If we look ahead in our calendars and see an opening, it’s highly likely that will get filled up by the time we get to it.

It always comes back to the “why” around you starting your fitness journey. In fact, there’s enough evidence out there that even if we don’t have a deep why – we all know that lifting weights, building muscle and improving our fitness is good for us, it’s just fact.

So the only better time to start would have been yesterday, last week or even last year.

If you’re life is hectic right now but you now you need to start training to be able to live a better life then find your place and get started. Make it work, make it a priority and the beauty is – even if you’re only 50% successful, that is 100% better than waiting.

You’ll prove to yourself that you can do it and if things do get more manageable in life then you’ll absolutely crush it!
